Repair Terms

  • Repair Terms

Last updated: 14 October 2026

These terms apply when you ask iFixMate to assess or repair your device. Please read them before you approve a repair. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

About us

  • Address: Walkergate, Newcastle upon Tyne

Quotes and approval

  • Tell us the exact device model and the fault. We will explain the repair options, the type of part, the price, the expected timing and any warranty before any work begins.
  • If an assessment charge applies, we will tell you before we assess your device.
  • We will not carry out any work, or charge you for it, until you have approved the quote.
  • If we find another fault during the repair, we will contact you and will not do any extra work without your agreement.
  • Prices are in pounds sterling and the price we confirm is the total you pay for the agreed work.

Parts

Depending on your model and budget, we may offer original parts or good-quality compatible (aftermarket) parts. We will tell you which type of part we will use before you approve the repair. Please be aware that:

  • some manufacturers, including Apple, may show a message saying a part is not genuine or is unknown when a compatible or third-party-installed part is used;
  • a repair by an independent repairer may affect any remaining manufacturer warranty;
  • after a device is opened, its original water and dust resistance cannot be guaranteed.

Your device and your data

  • Please back up your device before handing it to us. Some repairs carry a risk of data loss that cannot be fully avoided, even when the work is done with proper care.
  • Please remove any SIM and memory cards, cases and accessories unless we ask you to leave them.
  • We may need you to disable a passcode or unlock the device to test the repair. We will discuss this with you directly. Never send passwords in an enquiry.
  • We may refuse to repair a device if we reasonably believe it is lost, stolen or not yours, and we may ask for proof of ownership.

Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015

As a consumer, you are entitled to have our repair service carried out with reasonable care and skill, and any parts we supply must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If our service is not carried out with reasonable care and skill, you can ask us to repeat the work at no extra cost or, if that is not possible, you may be entitled to a price reduction. For more information, visit Citizens Advice.

Repair warranty

Any warranty we give on a repair, and what it covers, will be confirmed with your quote. It is in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights. A repair warranty normally does not cover new damage after the repair, such as drops, cracked screens, liquid damage, or later repairs or opening of the device by someone else.

Cancelling

  • You can cancel at any time before we start work, at no cost unless an assessment charge was agreed in advance.
  • If you agree the repair with us at a distance (for example by phone, email or WhatsApp) or away from our premises, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you ask us to start the repair within those 14 days, you will need to pay for work already done if you cancel, and you lose the right to cancel once the repair is complete.

Payment and collection

  • Payment is due when you collect your repaired device, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
  • We will let you know when your device is ready. Please collect it, or arrange for it to be returned, within 30 days.
  • If a device is not collected, we will contact you using the details you gave us. Under the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977, if a device is still uncollected 90 days after we have sent you written notice, we may sell or dispose of it and use any proceeds to cover the amount you owe us. Any balance will be held for you.

Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for faults that existed before the repair and were not part of the agreed work, or for business losses where you are a consumer. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with our service, please contact us at info@ifixmate.uk or on 0191 323 5255 and we will do our best to put things right quickly.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts where you live.
